Hello parents,
This week in phys ed we continued developing our running skills and endurance in preparation for the Terry Fox run next Thursday September 27. Students have set personal goals of how many laps they would like to run in the thirty minutes. They have based their goals on how many laps of our DIV I field they were able to run in 15 minutes. Students are encouraged to push themselves and to do their personal best. We are encouraging all students to please wear outdoor running shoes until then end of September as we will be running outside as often as possible, and it is no fun running in big rubber boots. BOKS An email has been sent regarding BOKS, a free program designed to help benefit student learning. Please check your email for details. Thanks to those that stopped by to say hi during conferences, it was nice to see you and catch up. If you did not get a chance to come by and you have something important to tell me please do not hesitate to send me an email. My contact information can be found on the contact page. This month we are preparing for the Terry Fox run by learning some proper running technique and building our endurance. We all believe that every student is capable of pushing themselves a little bit harder each and every day. Here are some of the learning outcomes from our first week. Encourage your athlete to talk about how we learned these running techniques, or even better have them show you! Kindergarten and grade 1
Running club has started for grades 4, 5 and 6. We meet every Wednesday and Thursday after school from 2:35 until 3:15 in the division 1 field. Students are still welcome to join. If your child would like to join have them ask their teacher for a running club form. Last day for the club is Thursday September 27th. |
